  18.   Microsoft Word for Windows version 1.1 accepts a delimited (with
  19.   quotation marks), comma separated ASCII file as the basis for a
  20.   Form Letter data document.  However, this ASCII file must be
  21.   converted to the Word for Windows file format.

  23.   Before exporting data from Paradox, verify the delimiter and
  24.   separator characters Paradox is using for ASCII export.  Paradox
  25.   ships with a default of quote <"> delimiter and comma <,>
  26.   separator.  It defaults to placing the quote delimiter around
  27.   only String data.  These settings will work properly for
  28.   importing to Word for Windows.  Word for Windows will also accept
  29.   delimiting of all fields with the quote characters.

  31.   To verify your current Paradox ASCII file handling settings, use
  32.   the Custom Configuration Program (CCP).  Start the CCP by
  33.   choosing {Tools} {More} {Directory} from the Paradox main menu
  34.   and change directories to the Paradox System Files directory
  35.   (usually c:\pdox35).  From the main menu choose {Scripts} {Play}
  36.   {Custom}.  This starts the CCP.  From the CCP menu choose
  37.   {ASCII}.  The ASCII menu has a number of choices for different
  38.   ASCII file handling settings.  Choose {Delimiter} and type in the
  39.   quote character <"> then press <Enter>.  Choose {Separator} and
  40.   type in the comma character <,> then press <Enter>.  Choose
  41.   {Fields Delimited} and choose {OnlyStrings}.  After verifying
  42.   these settings, press <Esc> then choose {DO-IT!} from the menu.
  43.   Save these changes to {HardDisk} or {Network} whichever is
  44.   appropriate.

  46.   Once the delimiter, separator, and fields separated have been
  47.   verified or changed to the correct characters through the CCP you
  48.   can start Paradox.  From the main menu choose {Tools}
  49.   {ExportImport} {Export} {ASCII} {Delimited} choose the correct
  50.   table and supply a new file name for the data.  This ends the
  51.   Paradox export process.

  53.   To create the Word for Windows Form Letter data file, start the
  54.   program.  From the main menu choose {File} {Open}, the program
  55.   opens a dialog box to prompt for the file to open.  Choose the
  56.   correct file.  Word for Windows opens another dialog box for the
  57.   correct file type.  From the list available choose Text(PC-8).
  58.   Once Word for Windows imports the new file, insert a blank line
  59.   above the first line of data.  In this blank line put the Word

  86.   As...} to save the updated file.  In the {Save As...} dialog box
  87.   change the file extension to .DOC.  Also press the Options button
